Let me start by saying, I love this bralette itself. I am a small band/big bust kind of girl (34DDD) and I can’t wear underwire bras without pain in my chest and ribs. Finding a good bralette is hard. I usually choose between those oh-so-comfy and plain cotton sports bralettes, or someting pretty I can only wear for an hour or two. This bra was fantastic in that it is very pretty and wearable, but so comfy and supportive, and I honestly would purchase again (and again) if I had the cash.
On to the bad: I feel like the sizing is super misleading. I was directed to a size 2 and that was a huge mistake. The band measured at 27 inches! It dug into my skin when I tried it on. The cups fit perfect, but it just was not wearable without pain. The company was great about it, even though their return policy is kinda silly (No exchanges, so I just had to return it and then order the new one, which was kinda roundabout but ok) I ended up with a size 3 and thats fine! Probably a 9/10 as the cups are looser than I would like (still fit, but I have bottom heavy boobs so there is a slight gap at the top), and the band rides up a little. Personally, I wish there was a size between 2 and 3, as the gap between the sizes seems pretty big.
I just think it’s very misleading to suggest that someone wearing up to a 40 DD could wear a size 3, and so I could never encourage this to my friends with larger bands and big busts. A friend of mine has a 40 band and we held it up to see if she could wear—it would never fit someone of that size, straight up.
All in all, it’s a great bra but their sizing is misleading and just as excluding as any other major lingerie brand (aerie, VS, etc) and that frustrates me, since this marketing for this bralette seems to depend on a more inclusive approach. Maybe one day they’ll expand the sizes and then I will feel less conflicted. (Hope if they do, they add a size between the 2 and the 3!!!!!)
