Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2023

At LIVELY we encourage our community to live their most dynamic lives 24/7. This can mean exploring new styles and pushing your comfort zone; but it also means staying informed and prioritizing your health.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're rallying our crew to come together, connect, listen, share, and empower one another to get checked. One person can make all the difference. You can make all the difference.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

Calling all New Yorkers! If you’re in the area, meet us at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Central Park on October 15th. During the event, we'll be hosting a "Wall of Hope” booth to pay tribute to those affected by breast cancer.

At the booth, you can sign up as a walker or offer a donation! We’ll give each donor a pink ribbon card to fill out. Donors can either write their own name or that of a loved one. We’ll hang the cards to form the Wall of Hope.

Our booth will be located in the festival area around the Naumburg Bandshell.

The best place to enter the park for the walk is on East 72nd Street and 5th Avenue or 66th Street and Central Park West. The event is 8:00am-Noon and the start line will be open 8:00am -11:00am.

While you’re at the booth, buy a cookie (boob shaped, of course!). 100% of cookie sales will be donated to American Cancer Society.

Support from Anywhere. Shop Pink. Make a Difference.

Not in the NYC area? You can shop our pink products online or in-store! A portion of net proceeds will be donated to American Cancer Society during the month of October.

In the Austin area?

Our friends at HerScan will be at the LIVELY Austin Store on October 13th to provide breast ultrasounds. They're short (15-20 minutes!) easy, and painless - plus, you don't need a prescription. You'll receive your email results in 7-10 business days. Enjoy light snacks and beverages while you're there!

HerScan is a mobile Breast Ultrasound Screening company that provides much needed access to breast ultrasound testing using state-of-the-art ultrasound technology used by highly experienced RDMS Sonographers & Board Certified Radiologists. The HerScan program makes it convenient and affordable for women to be scanned.

HerScan helps women do more for their breast health, resulting in a higher detection rate of cancer than with mammography alone. An ultrasound can increase detection from approximately 48% to 97% in dense breasts.

Let’s talk more about breast health.

Take the quiz to debunk 6 common misconceptions about breast cancer.

Overall, the average risk of a woman in the United States developing breast cancer sometime in her life is about 13%. This means there is a 1 in 8 chance a woman will develop breast cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, getting regular screening tests is the most reliable way to find breast cancer early. Breast cancer that’s found early, when it’s small and has not spread, is easier to treat successfully

Regularly doing self-exams at home can help you understand how your breasts normally look and feel. This way, you can report any changes to a health care provider.
