In celebration of Pride Month, our crew took to the streets of New York City in true LIVELY fashion. After showing off in colorful skivvies, they opened up about their experiences with being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. They proudly share their stories, hoping to inspire others on similar journeys.

What advice do you have for others still trying to figure out their sexuality?
Surround yourself with people who show you what love is.
What is your coming out story?
I was named the token straight friend and then I had to break it to them that I like girls.
What do you want people to know about your story?
There’s no rush to finding yourself.

Philly and now I'm in BKLYN, NY!
Any hobbies?
Snowboarding, hanging with pals in the park, traveling a ton, and sleeping!

What advice do you have for others still trying to figure out their sexuality?
Be yourself at all times. Don’t compare yourself to anybody else.
What is your coming out story?
I honestly don’t have one. I’m definitely privileged to have grown up with people who accept me in any way so it was a natural progression of coming into myself.
What do you want people to know about your story?
That my story is a chaotic, beautiful mess of taking my time and not being afraid to put myself out there as my authentic self. Honestly, I’m thriving!

What advice do you have for others still trying to figure out their sexuality?
It’s a journey, not a destination!
What is your coming out story?
I came out at graduation, senior year of high school. I literally spent months working on a text - a long, long, long text to send to my parents. The day I was walking, I sent it to them right before I went down the aisle, sat on stage and watched my mom scroll through this text the entire time I was on stage at graduation. And then after graduation, she gave me a hug and was like, "Oh my God, I knew."
What do you want people to know about your story?
It’s non-linear! Just like growth.

Kory Flores
Where did you grow up? And where do you live now?
I was born in England. Spent my childhood in Pennsylvania and grew up in Wisconsin. I live in Jersey City, New Jersey.
What advice do you have for others still trying to figure out their sexuality?
Be patient. You might not get the right answer the first time. It might take years. It took me a long, long time. And I was so frustrated, I was like, “Why didn’t I know sooner?” Sometimes it’s just not the moment. When it is, it’ll be amazing and you’ll feel so good and confident in yourself and I promise it’s worth the wait. Take time to make sure that you’re safe, that you’re taking care of yourself, and that you’re around people who love and support you no matter what.
What is your coming out story?
It was very much a soft launch for a long time. A lot of my family is very conservative. And to be quite honest, I still haven’t had that sit-down conversation with them....It’s just some things that they’re not ready for and hopefully they will be.
For everybody else, it started in college. Just talking to my friends and getting comfortable with the group. And then being able to be comfortable in bigger circles knowing I had a support group behind me. And now I’m the loudest person there is. All day, every day.
