Here at LIVELY, we’re constantly surrounded by swoon-worthy women that are killin’ it in their businesses. We're launching #WomenCrushWednesday to celebrate the boss babes who provide us with a constant flow of inspiration, support, and endless girl-crushes.
Up next, #HALFTHESTORY Creative Director & Founder, Larissa (Larz) May
Larissa founded #HALFTHESTORY while juggling her life as a Vanderbilt student, fashion blogger and entrepreneur. She started it as a desire to highlight the attributes of humanity on social media in hopes to digitally unite people and human connections. Since it’s start, it has become globally recognized for connecting people from all walks of life through sharing their personal journeys and stories publicly.
Where is your hometown?
What advice could you give on finding a healthy work-life balance?
Listen to your body and make "airplane mode" your best friend.
What’s the best advice you’ve gotten from a mentor?
Write your personal vision statement, build your boundaries, and be accountable for your actions.
What is your process when approaching your creative work?
I always need a blank white piece of paper and a sharpie pen. As a highly-visual person, I like to start with the largest vision possible and then create a system to execute the details. I always say, Dream Big, then refine.
When do you feel most empowered?
During #HalfTheStory's workshops, when individuals take the opportunity to share their own struggles or stories, sometimes its hard to remember the impact you are making, when you spend so much of your time "behind the screen" trying to make the magic happen.
Where do you go in NYC to unwind?
Chillhouse or the Williamsburg Waterfront.
What’s your biggest guilty pleasure (life’s all about balance after all!)?
I LOVE dessert. I'm the biggest treat freak on the planet.
